Year of Giving (Back)

As a small business, we are firm believers in using our platform to express our values and sense of gratitude. As we move into 2018, we are excited to introduce the 'Year of Giving', where each month, we will partner with a local charitable organization to highlight their efforts and to whom we will donate a portion of our sales and product.

For May and June, we are highlighting hardworking mamas who run by supporting the local Portland team chapter of EVERY MOTHER COUNTS. Founded by Christy Turlington Burns, Every Mother Counts is a global enterprise that helps provide critical maternity care for mothers all around the world. The organization involves local runners who run to bring awareness and raise money for their cause. This work is so close to our hearts and it is a pleasure to donate product to help the local Portland team run their best race for the upcoming Hood to Coast run in Washington! Our March/April pick is a fun one, as one of our directors is a season pass holder and we all confess to being big fans. ROSE CITY ROLLERS is Portland, Oregon's premiere women's roller derby league. Their mission states that they intend to "serve women and girls who want to play the team sport of roller derby, connect with an inclusive community and realize their power both on skates and off. We realize this awesome sport sets a great example for girls everywhere and we figured they could use a donation of our Natural Muscle Rub once the season gets underway.

Our inaugural pick for January/February is SERENDIPITY VAULTING, which is close to the heart of one of our awesome employees, Jess. She works with this 501(c)3 non-profit, based out of Gaston, OR, which was founded to allow youth from all backgrounds to participate in the sport of vaulting. Vaulting combines the strength of gymnastics with the healing artistry of working with horses. At Serendipity Vaulting, youth learn about a strong work ethic, responsibility, integrity, and being a leader. We are thrilled to help support this unique and fabulous organization this month.
